Weather/flooding in Vientiane area?

Am currently in Bangkok now and making a visa run this weekend to Vientiane. Was just wondering if I need to be prepared for flooding, etc. in the area...with the storm and rain, etc...Thanks.

Flooding was few months ago. Last I heard it is back to normal heading toward dry season.

Tropical storm Noul was downgraded to a "depression" today and anyway isn't going anywhere near Vientiane. It's gonna be dry for most of the interior but the upper Thai gulf and Bangkok will get winds and some heavy rain the next few days at least. Par for the course. Weather nerd Bob =)

Check out the Mekong back in August here. Worst flooding in 10 years.

Some rain is expected on Friday and light showers over the weekend. Nothing to worry about.
