Boutique Hotel 3 Nagas

Spread across two beautifully restored properties in the heart of town, this place oozes charm and character. The rooms are superbly appointed with Chinese and Lao furnishings, including four-poster beds, designer artworks and amenities aplenty.

On the east side of the road, the large two-storey French villa boasts one of the most inspired restoration jobs in Luang Prabang, with exposed roof beams left beautifully intact. All seven suites come with a spacious private veranda overlooking the hidden garden. The central pond is just begging to be upgraded to a swimming pool, but is probably protected by UNESCO. There are also two more expensive suites with their own private stairway entries. A further eight rooms have now been added in a classic French-period villa on the west side of the road. Reception is located here and the upstairs rooms are every bit the equal of the originals, if not grander. There are two very highly regarded restaurants in either property, one serving the best of royal Lao cuisine and the other specialising in the best of French and international fusion cooking.
