Laos - Luang Prabang - Where to sleep - Khongsavath Guesthouse

Khongsavath Guesthouse

In a cracking riverfront location just a short walk from Brasserie L'Elephant, this small guesthouse has big aspirations when it comes to delivering quality rooms at an affordable price. Set in an old building with a river view terrace, there are just seven rooms here.

There are four rooms downstairs and three rooms upstairs, including two riverview suites. All rooms have a big bed, air-con, a ceiling fan, Lao lamps, rugged floor tiles and brand spanking new bathrooms. The suites are much larger than the standard rooms and include a set of tables and chairs for chilling out in your room and contemplating the mighty river outside. All rooms come with shutters and it is worth opening these during the day or it can get quite dark. The outside terrace is the perfect place to sip an early morning coffee or a late afternoon beer. The only small drawback here is that little or no English is spoken, which is quite rare in the Luang Prabang of today.
