Surrounded by lushly landscaped grounds, this hotel features 30 tastefully designed rooms and is almost Balinese in feel. All the rooms come with an extensive wood trim, balconies, satellite TV, minibar and modern bathrooms.

The gardens drape down the hillside to a beautiful lotus pond that is the focus of nightly dance performances at busy times of year. There is a small stage set in the middle of the pond and the restaurant has the perfect view across the waters. Ask for a room with a view over the pretty pond if one is available. The only shame amid all this beauty is that there is no swimming pool, as it feels like it would fit. No, don't even think about the green waters of the lotus pond. The Parasol is a very atmospheric setting and undoubtedly quiet, but it is a little far from town for some. That said, recognising this, the hotel runs a regular shuttle to town to make sure everyone gets a bite from the Luang Prabang cherry.
